Terms of Service

Last updated October 28, 2026

These terms explain the rules for using TorahScrolls (“we”, “us”), the website and app at torahscrolls.ca. TorahScrolls is a Lake Sedona product. By creating an account or using TorahScrolls, you agree to them.

1. Your account

You need an account to read in TorahScrolls. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, or use TorahScrolls with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. One account is for one person.

2. Free week

New accounts get 7 days of full access for free. No payment card is needed. The free week is offered once per person. When it ends, you need a paid plan to keep reading. Your saved verses and progress stay in your account.

3. Plans and payment

  • TorahScrolls costs $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, plus any sales tax that applies. The price is shown before you pay.
  • If you choose a plan during your free week, your first payment is taken when the free week ends.
  • Plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method for each renewal.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We don’t give refunds for unused parts of a period, except where the law requires it.
  • If we change the price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
  • If a payment fails, we may pause your access until it is fixed.

4. The texts and what they’re for

The Hebrew text, the 1917 JPS English translation and the English Rashi commentary are in the public domain or used under open licenses; the full list of sources and credits is in the app under About. The pronunciation guides and word explanations are produced with care but may contain mistakes. TorahScrolls is a study aid. It does not replace a rabbi or teacher, and the information about conversion is general, not religious or legal advice for your situation.

5. Using TorahScrolls fairly

Please don’t share your account, copy or download the app’s content in bulk, resell access, try to get around the subscription, or interfere with how the service works. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

6. Changes and availability

We work to keep TorahScrolls available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features over time. If we make an important change to these terms, we’ll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. This cancels any plan and permanently deletes your account and saved data.

8. Limits of our responsibility

TorahScrolls is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

9. Law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless the consumer laws where you live say otherwise.

10. Contact
